In The Kitchen: Green Smoothie + The Famous TikTok Baked Oats

Today I’m sharing two of my frequent go-to breakfast options: My Morning Smoothie and the Famous TikTok Baked Oats. I love a good green juice or green smoothie. It’s so quick to make and I can drink it while doing other things during my morning. When stay-at-home began last year, I bought a bunch of frozen fruit and smoothies were the best way to utilize all of it. There are so many different combinations that remind me of all the time we spent at Jamba Juice in high school. As for the TikTok oats…when the TikTok algorithm began showing me about 75 different versions of these baked oats, I knew I had to try them. I’m talking about everything from chocolate chip (seen here) to birthday cake and about a million others I can’t even recall. If you have a bit longer to make & wait for breakfast, it’s completely worth it.

My Morning Smoothie

This smoothie is based on the Hula Hydrator smoothie from the Annual Goop Detox. In fact, it’s basically that smoothie but I just add different things whenever I feel adventurous. Theirs contains coconut meat which I included in the beginning but just didn’t enjoy. Sometimes I just add in other berry or tropical frozen fruit mixtures for added flavor.

  • 1/2 16.9 oz bottle of Vita Coco Coconut Water

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple

  • 1 cup frozen mango

  • 1 handful of dark leafy greens (I use the power greens blend)

  • Coconut meat if you want

Place all ingredients into a blender and pulse until combined.

The TikTok Baked Oats

There are SO many versions of these TikTok Baked Oats that let you eat different types of “cake” for breakfast. I’ll admit this tasted more like a thick chocolate chip pancake versus a cake, but it was delicious. My only negative to this breakfast is there is a bit of a banana flavor. So if that’s not your jam, and it’s not always mine, you may want to add more chocolate, cut back on the banana, or maybe add a little more syrup or even vanilla. But nevertheless, it’s an ooey, gooey delicious breakfast.

  • 1/2 cup of oats

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • 1/4 tsp baking power

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • 1/4 cup almond milk

  • Pinch of cinnamon

  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips

  1. Mix oats, banana, egg, maple syrup, almond butter, baking powder, sea salt, almond milk, and cinnamon into a blender. Blend until oats are completely blended.

  2. Add in 2 tbsp chocolate chips

  3. Pour into a greased baking dish (I used this ramekin)

  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Top with a drizzle of almond butter (if desired)
