Things I Tried & Loved In November

I don’t know how we got to November. The passage of time just seems to have sped up to a level where I can’t even comprehend it. For some, the end of the year it’s just the holidays, but for me, the end of the year always has me reflecting on things I’ve been through and where I’m going. It also pretty much causes a series of panic attacks about life, aging, and all of that. It just so happens next month is a year since I lost my dad which feels….insane. I’ve been in a bit of a funk this past month or so, but that is bound to happen and that is okay. I’m trying not to stress or go full steam ahead attempting to plan or make lists of all the things I want to do. Luckily, for now, I still managed to try some pretty cool shit so here are my official recommendations from the past month.

Faux Leather Trench Coat

I had a little treat myself moment and grabbed this two-tone leather trench coat because it looked absolutely gorgeous. Longtime readers have heard me talk about trench coats year after year and how I’m always thinking about adding one to my coat collection, and I finally did it! I’m frankly so happy I did. Just look at this gorgeous baby.

Skims Balconette Bra

It took me years of battling the hype, but I will fully admit I’m a Skims convert. They truly have some of the most comfortable intimates I’ve ever owned especially when it comes to bras. This unlined lace balconette is my latest bra impulse buy, and I’m super glad I did it. The fit is great and it’s honestly a complete upgrade from the other brands with this same style that I’ve tried.

Hanging Storage Organizer

If there is one thing I know I am bound to do each season, it’s absolutely run out of closet space switching out my clothes. That is never more true than in the fall and winter when everything is much more bulky. For years, I’ve hung up my sweaters which, yes, I know, ruins the necks so this year I came up with a solution. These hanging storage organizers get a 10/10 from me. The different levels allow me to put different thicknesses on each shelf and they surprisingly hold a lot.

Slouchy Leather Boots

There comes a time each season when I spot something I love and then can’t stop thinking about it. These Zara boots were one of those items and it absolutely sucked they were sold out in my size for so long. I love that they aren’t the same old slouchy boots and the kitten heel gives my ankles a break but still gives me that sexiness knee-high boots have.

Sichuan Chili Crisp

I know I’m late to the Fly By Jing club, but I saw my local grocery had it so I scooped it right up. It’s honestly so good…I have been using it for rice dishes, and vegetables, and I even added it to my go-to salad dressing to spice things up. I haven’t tried it on ice cream, though they swear that you can…and should. Either way, this sauce is going to be a sauce staple around here.

Fly By Jing, $17

Scalp Detox Treatment

I honestly love the entire Vegamour Gro collection and with an attempt to make my hair much more full, I turned to the Scalp Detoxifying Serum. I use it once a week before hopping in the shower to wash my hair. After a month or two it’s made my hair look so much more healthy and it keeps my scalp from becoming dry and uncomfortable.

Vegamour, $42

Un restaurant délicieux

I popped into Zinqué for a drink on my birthday and fell in love. In my quest to try all the Streak Frites I can in life, I had to go back and this month I finally tried it. With so much on the menu it was honestly hard to decide what to even have, but their steak frites is my local favorite…so far. Wins by a mile! I love the ambiance there. It’s such a chic space that transports you somewhere else and you don’t even realize you’re outside a shopping mall. Now that is the sign of a good restaurant.

The Best Razor I’ve Ever Owned

I’ve tried a lot of razors in my day, but this Billie razor is by far the best razor I’ve used in my life. It gives a super close shave without ripping apart my legs. Their shaving cream doesn’t clog the razor either and it’s the very first razor I’ve ever had that actually sticks to its mount without the razor or the mount just falling at random. I truthfully could not ask for a better, more efficient razor, and my soft legs thank them.

Billie, $10

A Game Changing Cleansing Balm

This purchase came out of my utter frustration of not being able to simply pick up cleansing balm from my local Target. It took me less time to read reviews and order this bestseller from Amazon than it did it for me to hit a button & wait for a Target employee to unlock a case for me. Waiting an entire day for it to deliver was a trade-off I was willing to take to avoid that hassle and mess. And I’m glad I did. This cleansing balm is incredible, it smells good, and, most importantly, it does it’s job. I’ve never had a cleansing blam remove my makeup this well - especially mascara - and it even comes with a little scoop.

Juno & Co, $14
