I Have So Many Questions About the New Season of The Bachelorette
I am not a card-carrying member of Bachelor Nation. In fact, the only reason I began subjecting myself to this show is that my friends LOVE it. So I have given it a chance. There are typically two stages when it comes to watching an episode of any Bachelorette/Bachelorepisode. First, the "what is going on? What am I even watching?!" first hour. Followed by the "suddenly feeling really bad about myself" second hour. Now it seems counterproductive to ever compare oneself to reality television contestants but those slurpy, sloppy kisses start to get really...irritating. One's mind can't help but wander at that point, right?
Four Fun Things: 90s Nostalgia
It feels like the 90s just ended 5 minutes ago, but everywhere I look there's some trend or reference reappearing for better or worse. I've even seen articles about millennial's being affected by early on-set nostalgia because of this incredibly close wave of brands resurfacing or bringing back bygone products and mascots. Hamburgler Hipster Dad anyone? I know there are plenty of things from the 1990s I would love to forget about, but here I am reliving my youth whether I want to or not. So after a strange Double Dare-centric conversation with my sister, here are 4 fun things for optimal 90s nostalgia.
October Edit
I feel like its such a cliche girl thing to say "I can't believe it's already November!," but I genuinely can't believe it. It feels like literally just a couple of months ago it was New Years Day and I was eating those pancakes hungover in a diner feeling so hopeful about 2017. It's such a bummer to realize maybe I should have set the expectation bar just a little lower so I wouldn't be so shocked it's November
Throwing a Bachelorette Viewing Party
Watching The Bachelorette or even being considered part of Bachelor Nation might feel a little embarrassing. What really helps the shame factor is having a crew of people to (ironically) enjoy the insanity with. It's more fun with friends who listen to the same podcasts (Rose Buddies is a good one) and who will play with you in a fantasy league (not for the faint of heart). So naturally when you've got a crew in this with you, a viewing party is a necessity especially when it comes to finales. Tonight Rachel Lindsay will pick her future husband (she claims she's still engaged), and that might not seem like enough time to toss together a finale party, but it is. There are about 6,000 elaborate ways to celebrate the Bachelorette.
