I May Be Obsessed With Grain Bowls

When it comes to lunch, salads have always been my go-to. There are half a million options and I love recreating salads I’ve had at restaurants at home. Not that I don’t absolutely love a visit to Salad and Go. But eventually, salads can become stale especially during the colder months when all I really want is a hearty bowl of something (kinda) warm. Enter Grain Bowls. I found a love of grain bowls a while back when I was looking for something that was still pretty healthy but a little more filling than a salad. I started with a sushi-inspired bowl and a healthier version of Chipotle’s chicken burrito bowl, but just like with salads it’s time to spice things up.

Grain bowls are called everything from Buddha Bowls, quinoa bowls, or even rice bowls. Whatever the case may be, they are the perfect meal that doesn’t require a whole lot of thought and they can use just about anything you already have in the fridge or pantry. They are just that easy and full of flavor. There aren’t too many rules when it comes to bowls, but they should have different textures, flavors, and colors otherwise you’ll just have a really bland, grey-looking bowl. I mean just look at some of these ones that have caught my eye and entered my list of must-make recipes.
