What I'm Listening To, Volume 13
It’s been a long couple of months. I haven’t had the time to focus on a proper, themed playlist for November. So instead, I thought I would compile another edition of What I’m Listening To. Despite existing in three, yes three, separate playlists this one fell together like magnets being dropped. Okay, maybe I could have found a better example to make there. Maybe not.
Where has my head been at this past month? Well, some of the tunes have a bit of a glimpse into my scattered mind while others are just new releases everyone should know about. Where do I even begin? Let’s see.
I think everyone knows my thoughts (love) of Panda Bear. That said the new Panda Bear is one of the most chilled out songs I’ve heard in a long while. Honestly, you can listen to it in traffic and not even get a little agitated. Trust me. I’ve done it. I am quite excited to hear the rest of this album. Freelance by Toro y Moi makes me want to dance. Every. Time. Another one of my favorites, Chromatics, just released an extended digital version of the Camera EP (which was previously only on vinyl) which I am ecstatic to hear. I also recommend House of Dolls from that EP which is just begging to be on a Halloween mix.
New stuff (aka the stuff you need to know)
This Kero Kero Bontito track really grew on me after hearing it quite a bit. It’s just one of those songs. Arlo Parks is an 18 year old singer from London and her song Cola is such a chill, melancholy song about betrayal. And then there is Champagne Superchillin’ which is literally a band I HAD to listen to purely based on name alone and I was NOT disappointed.
