Summer Wellness Essentials
When working on July’s Monthly Edit, I couldn’t believe I was sitting there talking about July being over. I truly feel like I’ve wasted so much of this year away. I could go exploring the state of Arizona, but, with the heat and just generally feeling so…deflated all the time, I just don’t want to. So I’ve just really just keep up my (mostly) solitary lifestyle which, honestly, just involves a lot of working overtime and watching Supermarket Sweep reruns.
That said, here are a few of the things that are helping me get through a summer stuck indoors. With a record number of 110+ degree days broken today, it’s somewhat of a blessing right?
BEAUTY
It’s important to protect your skin from the sun when exercising or taking part in other activities outside
Sunscreen, Supergoop!
Ice rolling reduces pore size, redness, and increases lymphatic drainage. It’s a godsend after time in the heat or a really great workout!
Ice Roller, Esarora
This serum brightens the skin and gives the perfect glow to dull skin. Not to mention it smells great!
Glow Baby Serum, Pacifica
FITNESS
Headphones are just a way of life period. But for walking, working out, and even Zoom meetings, good headphones are everything.

You can’t go on a walk without a water bottle! This eco-friendly bottle features a minimalist design and keeps drinks both hot and cold.

My post-walk morning workouts have become so important to my flow for the day. I attempt to do a combination of yoga and pilates, but at least one.
Yoga Mat & Yoga Block, Gaiam
BODY
Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties which help with many issues including arthritis and strengthening the cardiovascular system.
Turmeric Capsules, Up&Up
My favorite set to wear lounging around. It’s made of washable silk which makes it super easy to clean and keeps me cool in the summer heat.
Silk Set, Lunya
A refreshing lemonade made with Elderberry to help the immune system. Elderberry is a good source of antioxidants and has been used to treat illnesses.
Elderberry Lemonade, Pressed Juicery
MIND
The Balance App is great for newbies to Meditation. There are singles for emergencies and specific feelings in addition to a daily session that helps teach meditation fundamentals.
Goop offers a series of YouTube videos featuring guided meditations and sound baths for differing situations.
Insight Timer is an app that offers guided meditations, soundscapes for sleeping/relaxing, and even singing bowls (my favorite!). There are meditations for beginners and beyond.
HOME
This sea salt & lavender candle has been my go-to for the past few months. Lavender is just a soothing, calming scent and in times of chaos is much appreciated!
Sea Salt & Lavender Candle, Hearth & Hand with Magnolia
I saw this plant while making my Target essentials run a few weeks back. I just knew I needed it to liven up my space without, you know, worrying about killing it.
Artificial Monstera Plant, Project 62
I got this throw as a gift for my birthday, and I love it. It’s so soft and keeps me warm from the air conditioning while I lounge around watching 90 Day Fiancé!
