MIX NO. 35 // SUMMER VIBES II
My first instinct when sitting down to write this was to say I can’t believe it’s June, and, as cliche as it is, how is it really June? I guess a pandemic partnered with civil unrest will just do that kinda thing. Even now a mix seems kind of frivolous, but music just always seems to help.
I set out to make a new mix because I like the idea of summer more than I actually…like summer most times. There are really only so many days you can put up with it being over 80 degrees already at 5 am. But as the days got warmer and the more walks I took the more I was drawn to all the pools in the neighborhood. I just desperately felt the need to float around in a pool for hours and hours with no distractions but apartment pools just don’t cut it. They are terribly annoying and especially right now when people don’t have much to do.
That said, I felt a little inspired to start the Summer Vibes playlist. 1 hour and 30 minutes of just pure vibes and tunes that just have the perfect sound for an afternoon in sun. Almost kind of a modern yacht rock type mix which gives me immense joy. All I know is that it is deserving of a listen, a cocktail (get a White Claw if you want), and just a whole lot of relaxing.
