We all pretty much know trends come in cycles and they are also lucky if they stick around for more than one season. Cutouts have been in style for a few seasons now and have shown no signs of slowing down any time soon. Even cutouts have gone through their own regeneration from chic ovals, circles, and keyholes to garments on runways displaying never-ending cutouts. What makes cutouts so interesting and fun is how they can take on whatever form you personally feel comfortable with. Whether it’s an exposed side, open back, or a fully exposed abdomen they can highlight your favorite features, and be sexy, sultry, and even chic. Some garments even have other details like ties and chains that make them much more exciting.
Cutouts are certainly a party/night out inspired trend that has transcended into everyday life and are constantly making appearances in the wardrobes and Instagrams of it girls. Some cutouts remind me of Y2K and mini skirts from back in the day. But honestly, cutouts are a trend you can wear however you want, whichever way makes you comfortable, and they are one trend you can invest in this year without regret.
