With Daylight Savings springing everyone, except Arizona, forward one hour means we are all about to wake with sunshine once again. As much as I go through my phases loving fall and winter, when spring rolls around and it’s bright (and not frigid) in the morning, my mood makes a 180. There is just something about spring and sunshine that instantly lifts the mood. It just makes days start off on the right foot. After the last Monthly Mix being about winter and it’s moodier qualities, I started thinking about a more upbeat mix for spring. Not just spring, but spring mornings. As I thought of all the possible avenues I could take, I kept returning to one theme.

For years, on really nice weekend mornings, I would open the windows for fresh air and while cooking breakfast, making coffee, or just getting some chores done I would listen to one particular playlist. This playlist was made of classic rock songs that were chill, some that made me want to dance a little, and some that just really set the scene to a great soundtrack. Nothing distracting and all very good in their own way. So I thought why not make a more concise, smaller version that can still help ease a listener into the morning and keep them on track with what they need to be doing? And thus, the March Monthly Mix was born. I can admit I wish I had left some songs in it during the editing process, but the result is still a really great playlist for everything from just relaxing to even working.
