Monthly Edit 018

February has flown by, but maybe that’s just being an adult also in the middle of a pandemic and well, you know other unfortunate current events. For me personally, February has had some highs and some lows - from fresh starts to travel. A friend got married which meant a too-quick trip to Tucson and a fun pit stop to the roadside attracting - The Thing? A roadside attraction that completely exceeded my expectations and even enabled me to enjoy a sweet treat from Dairy Queen. Something I haven’t done in a million years. In addition to it being a beautiful wedding with incredible weather (okay, it was kinda chilly at night - but it is the desert after all), it reminded me how much I love to travel. Even a couple of hours from my own backyard. On the way there I began coming up a list of all the amazing places I would love to explore this year.

Unfortunately, like much of the world, I am devastated and completely destroyed by what is happening in Ukraine. I will not pretend to be a geopolitical expert or act as though I know much of anything about the situation, but I will say, as I have always said, there is no place for war anywhere at any time. It feels kind of strange at times to be living in this hyper-connected world where we receive in-the-minute updates of what is happening across the world but at the same time going about our daily lives. Sometimes it just feels surreal - even just typing this post right now. I hope that this tiny post can be an escape from the craziness of the current moment even if just for 5 short minutes.
