What to Eat, Watch, and Wear This Weekend
Honestly, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite weekends of the year. Not only is the food pretty yummy, but I get to spend a few days resting and relaxing which, if you know me, can sometimes be pretty hard. This weekend I’m taking off time from socializing to just hang out at home, watch movies, and get decorating for Christmas. Also hoping I’ll end up making some Instagram content or something too. But, in case you’re looking for some things to enrich your weekend, here are some things to eat, wear, and watch.
EAT
The Modern Proper’s Vegetable Soup
I made this recipe last week when it was chilly and windy out. It was so filling, and delicious, and had the right amount of spice to give it a little extra kick (and clean out my sinuses!) I added some salad macaroni noodles to mine to make it a little hearty, but trust me, it’s incredible. Definitely a good recipe for taking a break from all that Thanksgiving fun!
WEAR
This weekend, I’m all about keeping it comfy and cozy. Not only is it kinda chilly with the wind, but I am taking the weekend off from socializing to decompress. This means I’m probably going to be wearing sweats for days on end while catching up on shows, and movies, and figuring out what to make with Thanksgiving leftovers.
WATCH
Home Alone
This weekend is the official start of the Holiday season - at least around my house. It’s time to kick things off with a classic I have learned to love as an adult: Home Alone.
DECORATE
The time has come to break out the holiday decorations. I won’t pretend my ghosts, skeletons, and black pumpkins haven’t been out since Halloween. They have…and now it’s time to switch to all things sparkly, bright, and joyful.
LISTEN TO
It’s not hard to get into the holiday spirit right now, but just in case Santa arriving at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade isn’t doing it for you and you need a little extra inspiration: Grab a playlist! I haven’t even started to think of this year’s theme cause I think I’ve really done them all, ha. Let’s just say there are plenty to choose from depending on the genre, mood, and even decade you’re looking for.
DRINK
Mulled Wine
Ahhhhhhhhh it’s finally mulled wine season!!!! Mulled wine is one of my favorite things about winter. It’s warm, cozy, and even makes my apartment smell great. I usually just use a mulling spices mix from the Farmers Market, but this recipe looks pretty great too.
