Let me preface this post by saying I've thought about personal style a lot lately. Whether it was because of a podcast or just trying to liven up my closet, it's just been renting space in my mind. As we grow we begin to take on inspiration from a lot of places, and one of the biggest bits of inspiration I had growing up was Jackie Kennedy Onassis. Of course, Jackie died in 1993 when I was still very young, but the Kennedy dynasty has been a huge part of my life. I'm sure that's the case with many people. I grew up doing tons of reports, watching tons of documentaries, and absorbing everything I could about each of them. So I had plenty of exposure to her style both as First Lady and off-duty. I think the reason I love Jackie's style is that it is chic and classic. Many of her outfits could be pulled off easily in 2018 and not look out-of-place at all. Now I'm talking more about her off-duty style rather than her iconic in its own right First Lady style. There are only so many times you can wear a Chanel suit with a pillbox hat, right? And there is no touching that in 2018. That's not to meant to be insulting because she has left a gigantic stamp on the world of fashion in both mediums. Jackie has an incredible chicness that anyone would dream of emulating.

Go for tailored crops but be bold and choose colors over neutrals
When in doubt stick to the wardrobe basics. They are fundamentals for a reason.
Get a statement coat. Look fierce, classic, and cool all at once.
Change up menswear by adding feminine touches like bows.
Stick by your go-tos. Dress up a simple, basic tee. Add layers. Create a crisp silhouette with black and white.
Show off your collarbone and neck. The most tasteful way to show a little skin.
