My (Current) Favorite Ways to Rosé All Day
It might be a cliché or make me "basic" but rosé is my favorite when it comes to wine. Reds are hard on my stomach and some whites can be a one-way sugary nightmare ticket to headache town. At least I know when it comes to most rosé's I have it made in the shade (especially at restaurants where there's added pressure). I should preface this by saying I am not a wine expert by any means. I, like most, learn through experimentation. Despite my friends trying to flood me with pina coladas, rosé is always my summer drink. I tend to drink rosés that are lighter pink. There's just something about the darker kind or how long the grapes sit that I just don't love. This is likely because the longer it sits the more red wine characteristics it tends to take on. I also tend to buy and enjoy more dry wines because the sugar content can take me from 0 to 100 real quick. There's a definite difference between casually enjoying the evening and instantly wanting to go to bed.
One of the things I love most about rosé is that it doesn't have to be expensive to be good. With most reds and whites, unless you're spending a good amount, you're ending up with subpar wine. Sure, places like Trader Joe's have great selections of moderately priced, tasty wine, but we all know the good stuff can cost a pretty penny. This is especially true when it comes to French wines (like Yes Way Rosé). Despite its current popularity, pink wine has a stigma attached. It's underappreciated by most and inexpensive to make so they end up being affordable so it's a win. Even while reading up on rosé for this post, I found experts saying even a good bottle goes for only $25 to $30.
I've tried tons of bottles over the years, you know before it was the trendy thing to do. With National Rosé Day coming up (June 9th) I thought I would share some of my favorites. Just in case you're looking to try something new or to celebrate.
