In the Kitchen: Guacamole a la Beyoncé

Over the Memorial Day weekend, my friend hosted a pool day at her apartment. A time to just lay around, do nothing and get some sun. Of course, snacks are always necessary which is where this request began. Almost immediately guacamole came to mind because it's a crowd pleaser and really doesn't stick around long enough to go brown. Of course, I have plenty of go-to guac recipes, but this party was really amped at the prospect of enjoying Queen Bey's recipe. When trying to find the recipe, I realized it's been out there for a couple years now. I'm not sure why it was suddenly making the rounds again. Overall it's a super simple recipe compared to many guacamole recipes. I was a little surprised there were no jalapenos. I mean that's a quintessential guacamole ingredient, right?

The end result was a refreshing guacamole. But, truth be told, it was not my favorite guac I've ever made. Sorry, Queen Bey. My friends seemed to really love it and there was not a single drop left over after the long day poolside. I did add a jalapeno to a different batch for comparison, and I liked that much more. I could really see using the original recipe for topping burgers or sandwiches rather than eating it with regular chips. I know many websites put it to the test alongside proper chefs, and it beat a few proper chefs but I think that's mainly because it's Beyoncé.

End Result: The guac was super easy to make and took about 15 minutes to make (I'm a perfectionist). I would likely make this again for burgers, tacos, or sandwiches. More so if my friends requested it once again. I will stick my usual go-to guacamole for now.
