My Favorite Things This Year

So long 2019. There are very few things I will fondly remember you by. But before times run out and while I’m still trying to choose an order for my albums of the year list, I thought I would share some of my other favorite things from this year. Many of these things appeared in posts throughout the year and it lacks movies, television, music, and other pop culture bits (Baby Yoda forever). Mainly because if I went that in depth, we would be here till 2021…probably.

As we set out in 2020, hopefully things are much better, but there’s still a few hours (okay a day) left in 2019, so enjoy 9 of my favorite things this year.

Soma Glass Water Bottle

My trusty Soma glass water bottle has gone with me everywhere from the gym to work and nearly everywhere in between. I’ve used a lot of reusable water bottles in my day and this one is by far my favorite. Not only because of the sleek design but because it’s just a really great bottle.

H&M Silk Tank

I am not ashamed to admit I have quite a few of these tanks in a few colors. Hey, it’s a character flaw I suppose. But these tanks have been my go-to all year long. They look good, the silk temperature controls in the hotter months, and they layer pretty well under jackets for chillier days.

Stasher Reusable Snack Bags

As someone who really loves to meal prep and, of course, snack, Stasher bags are a game-changer. You can literally use them for snacks and many other things. Why would you go back to single-use plastic baggies that are completely unreliable? Stasher bags are non-toxic, silicone baggies that are microwave and dishwasher safe. Need I say more?

Made By Design…Everything

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while now, you might recall at the beginning of 2019 I decided that overhauling my living space was a must. Enter the trusty, functional, and affordable Made By Design line at Target. Honestly, to this very day, you’ll find me picking up “essentials” (okay essential to me) when I realize I’m missing something. Since the original post, I’ve done my laundry area and kitchen. It’s unlikely you’ll find something that isn’t MBD. No shame in my game.

Rose Quartz Facial Roller

I’m a bit of a late adopter to this whole trend, but once I got one I haven’t looked back. Not only is it my favorite shade of blushy-pink, but it works wonders on the face. Especially because my resting bitch face can get a little…tense from time to time. I got mine on a trip to Sedona and since have found serums etc to get my face in tip-top shape.

Moto Leather Jacket

Full disclosure, I had my previous leather jacket for about…5 or 6 years. Until recently I realized the collar was beginning to show signs of wear and tear from use. I was pretty reluctant to get a new one, but once I laid my eyes on my current one, I couldn’t look back. Plus, a good leather jacket is a wardrobe staple. It might as well be in good shape.

A New Day Ankle Boots

I ruined my suede boots during a rainstorm recently. I stepped into a deep puddle without knowing just how deep it was. I’m glad I was able to find these boots which are pretty similar but so much cooler. I love the side zippers and the little silver button on the back.

De Mont Coteaux Varois en Provence Rose

Full disclosure: I have ONLY ever found this rosé at Trader Joe’s and there isn’t even a website for it online. I picked this up in the springtime and any time I’ve gone to TJs I’ve grabbed a bottle. It’s made with organic grapes, has notes of various fruits, and is crisp and delicious. And, well, the bottle is pretty good looking too.

Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm

Behold the Holy Grail of nighttime cleansers and makeup melters! I was pretty apprehensive when I gave it a try, but my life was forever changed. As gross as it may be, watching a sink filled with dirt, oil, and gross makeup getting washed down the drain is pretty damn satisfying. It also smells good and relaxes me enough to hit the hay at night.
