STREET STYLE TRENDS I AM HERE FOR

I don’t know what it is about springtime, maybe the spirit of renewal in the air, that makes me just want to clean out my closet and life in general. Okay, I’ll end up immediately refilling it, but that really isn’t here or there. With fashion month in the rearview, Street Style (and as a result, my saved folders) have been serving a masterclass in effortless dressing. That one sweet spot where fashion feels a little more personal and less performative. If you’re anything like me, you believe good style can change your whole mood - you’re probably already noticing the shift. Style these days is less about flashy logos and more about textures, smart shapes, and an energy that says ‘ I just threw this on’ despite the actual thought put into it.

Of all the street style trends that have been seeing the light of day, these are the ones giving me life right now. The ones that I definitely am adding to my closet and outfit rotation.

Trench as a Dress

Why not? The trench coat is begging to be the outfit, not just the thing tossed on before running out the door. Belt it tight, add boots or kitten heels, and suddenly you’re channeling ‘French girl who knows things’ energy. There is beauty in the simplicity of trench coats, from the classic shape to the cinching that instantly builds confidence. Add a flash of gold jewelry, and done. You look powerful, expensive, and chic, without a whole lot of thought.

Modern Minis

Mini dresses are like my thing, and this trend is all about the vintage a-line type mini dress. They have bold prints, clean lines, and the swinging sixties playfulness. Mini dresses are the best whether you pair them with loafers and chunky socks, strappy sandals, or boots that were made for walking. No matter how you wear them, you’re serving main character energy, and honestly, it’s what you deserve.

Fashion Forward Windbreaker

If you had told me a year ago I’d be making room in my closet for more than one non-sports windbreaker, I would have laughed in your face. Yet here we are. These windbreakers are much less middle school field trip and more model-off-duty running errands. They have sharper tailoring, unexpected designs, and luxe materials. They are the perfect laying piece since we never know what the weather’s about to do, and they add a little sporty-cool edge to whatever you’re wearing. Big yes for me.

Butter Yellow

Move over beige, butter yellow is the new neutral and it’s having a moment. It’s soft, it’s chic, and it magically looks good on everyone. You can’t convince me otherwise. I’m seeing it everywhere, from oversized blazers to gorgeous dresses and even sneakers. Butter yellow is the kind of color that makes an outfit feel considered without trying too hard. Treat it like a neutral and pair it with denim or swap your classic white tee for a pale yellow one under your favorite jacket. Suddenly, you’re the coolest person at brunch.

Baggy Denim

I love skinny jeans, and they are back in style, but on the other end of the spectrum is baggy denim. It’s all about denim that breathes; the loose, roomy, and unapologetically slouchy. We’re talking the puddle hems, big cuffs, and exaggerated silhouettes. Casual with a capital C, but when styled right (with a crisp white button-down, pointy boots, and a structured bag), it gives intentional, not sloppy. As a millennial, it can be triggering to think of the days of muddy hems, but baggy jeans are a lifestyle now.
