Interior Envy: Black + White Bedrooms
Black and white is a classic combination. It’s probably one of my favorite color combinations and one that was part of our family’s brand growing up. Even when my grandparents remodeled their kitchen in the 90’s they chose, of course, black and white. It might not be the first combination you reach for when it comes to a bedroom, but utilizing black and white can have a really calming effect. A black-and-white combination can be clean and set a hotel-like atmosphere. It can also feel ultra glamorous depending on the other design elements and fixtures being used. White is light and airy while black has a sense of depth so choosing one of the colors to be the base with the other complimenting it can make the room feel much larger, open, and eye-catching.
What I love about black and white bedrooms is how different they can look and feel. They are inherently different than choosing neutrals or a different theme. I love that choosing white and complimenting it with black can be bright, light, and relaxing. And, on the other hand, choosing black and accenting with white can be dramatic, chic, and unique. I know one main thing I will be looking for in my next living space whether it be a home or an apartment is making sure it has a light, bright, airy bedroom filled with sunlight.
