Interior Trends I Love Right Now

IMAGE

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like their living space is in a constant state of evolution? It could be because I follow and spend so much time browsing interiors making me want to change things constantly. I know in the past year I’ve made quite a few changes, some significant. I’m always sitting here trying to decide what fits in with my chosen aesthetic or if it’s time to abandon it and move on to another one. Should I embrace minimalism? An organized chaos? Western gothic? Right now, I’m all about the earthy and chic vibes not to mention the predicted trends for 2025. Here are the trends I’ve been swooning over lately and that get my stamp of approval.

Curved Furniture

This one is hit or miss with many people, but I think the soft, sculptural magic of curvy furniture is on my love list. There is something so comforting about a rounded sofa or a wavy coffee table. It’s like an instant hug for your living room. I’ve been seeing these pieces everywhere, and I’m obsessed. They add a touch of playfulness and feel incredibly modern but approachable. Cloud-like armchairs, crescent-shaped sectionals, and kidney-shaped ottomans are where it’s at. It’s the way to make a statement without being too flashy.

Bold Black

I love the color black and plenty of the pieces in my home are black so this shouldn’t be a surprise. But, I am loving how more and more people are getting adventurous and bold with the color. I can’t get enough of it. Whether it’s a black accent wall, moody cabinetry, or a striking black table, the trend is the epitome of chic. It’s almost like the perfect leather jacket but for your home; timeless, edgy, and it goes with everything.

Discreet and Smart Tech

I am obsessed with smart tech. I don’t know how it happened but I’m a sucker for the little gadgets that make my home almost like a sci-fi movie. Everything from invisible speakers, artful TV frames, and phone chargers that hide in plain sight. My current favorite? My LED light bulbs that are programmed to kick on, turn off, and set moods based on how my day is going. They are controlled by my phone and it’s pretty awesome to never have to get up, ha. The best part is truly that technology doesn’t have to disrupt the vibe of the space; it can enhance it.

Natural Stone

There is nothing quite like the elegance of natural stone. I’m literally obsessed. Marble, travertine, and even soapstone are having a serious moment right now. From coffee tables and backsplash to bathroom vanities, natural stone adds a touch of luxury and timelessness. I honestly find it hard to resist a giant slab stone table or marble bowl. Even small touches, like strone trays or coasters, can elevate your space.

Vintage Inspired Touches

I’ve always been a big believer in mixing the old and new. My obsession with mid-century modern began with my great-grandmother’s dining set which to this day is an iconic piece that I miss. Vintage inspired pieces like a mid-century credenza or antique brass light fixture add character and tell a story. Plus, vintage touches are a sustainable choice which these days is a win-win. Whether it’s scouring a thrift store or estate stale, you can locate unique finds that add that character and a little history at the same time.

Colored Details

Neutral palettes will always have my heart and my decor style, but lately I’ve been loving the colored details. Vases, artwork, and throw pillows in earthy greens, vibrant blues, and other bright colors. These pops of color bring life to a room without overwhelming it. I envy how balanced so many rooms can be with color and there are so many cool pieces out there that will make any home infinitely cooler.

Whimsical Wallpaper

Wallpaper is officially back and it’s not like your grandmas. From bold florals to more quirky prints, whimsical wallpaper can completely transform a room. I always seem to find the coolest, best wallpaper, but am never sure I could actually pull it off. I personally love designs that look hand-painted or are just so unique no one else would really give them a second glance (like vintage Barbies). I think wallpaper is perfect for a powder rooms or an accent wall in a bedroom. Wallpaper isn’t out of reach for people who rent, like myself. Peel-and-stick options make it easy to use in any home and it makes it easier to experiment with options without a long-term commitment.

So What Now?

At the end of the day, your space should feel like you. Taking on trends isn’t for everyone for one reason or another. The goal is to create a space that brings joy. For me, that means playing with curves, leaning into my love of the color black, and maybe, just maybe committing to whimsical wallpaper I’ve been wanting to try. Honestly, who knows I’m always looking for my next design obsession.
