Exploring Marble: One of My Favorite Home Trends
I freaking love marble. I love how each piece has it’s own character and look. Marble isn’t exactly new on the home interior front. Marble tiles and countertops have been a staple for what feels like forever. I remember when we re-did our childhood house in the 90s choosing a marble was a HUGE freaking deal (we chose black with white veins because…of course). These days marble is a lot more daring, making it a modern home trend. The bigger the statement the better. Marble creates depth through its texture and plays off the other materials in the room. It goes perfectly with wood and rattan. Marble is a focal point that highlights the other key objects in the room which means you can use it on furniture, decor pieces, walls, floors, and countertops.
Marble is one of the oldest and most beautiful stones. Its origins are in Ancient Rome and Greece where marble was used to construct structures, sculptures, and pillars. Marble is one of the textures I find myself gravitating to most frequently. It’s chic, and clean, and doesn’t overwhelm the design of the room. I love having little marble accent pieces around my house, but I envy those who take marble to the next level like in the inspiration images below.
