Hearing neon and interiors in the same sentence probably evokes thoughts of the 1980s. Shopping malls, roller rinks, and the whole nine yards. While some may think that has gone to the wayside, neon is back, and in a big way. Neons are, after all, the life of the party. I love neon because I think it makes things exciting. Just watch any episode of Love Island and try not to be mesmerized by all the neon signs. In fact, it’s pretty darn hard to resist getting one for the perfect photo op. I’m just obsessed with neon right now.
Neon is bright and energizing. It breathes brand new life into any home. The bright blues, fluorescent yellows, oranges, and electric lime greens are making their way into designs from restaurants to museums and even homes. They are mixed by designers with tons of different design styles from minimal to modern. These days neon is more of an accent color than a full-on room statement. The best part is there is no need to turn a home into a dance party to embrace neon. There are tons of different ways to get your neon fix from lighting to decor and even candles. It’s a trend that can even be done with some paint and a simple DIY.
