The Friday Five
Hi there friends! Welcome to the Friday Five. A new post that I’ve one a few versions of over the years inspired by one of my favorite design websites. They choose an influential person and just have them talk about five things they are obsessed with, love, or are inspired by right now. It’s a fun little update of stuff I’m loving right now which doesn’t seem all that different than most things on this blog, however, there isn’t enough time to talk about everything I love. Besides, it’s my blog and my website so I’m gonna do it anyway, ha. So get to know some things I’ve been obsessed with lately.
Miss Dior Chair
I read about this reinterpretation of the Dior Medallion in the latest issue of Architectural Digest, and I couldn’t stop staring at how beautiful it looked. This version of the Medallion chair created by Philippe Starck is a “tribute to a certain kind of feminity, imbued with bold elegance.” The chair is refined, has a lightness from the aluminum composition, and has the most beautiful simple, silhouette. This copper color is so eye-catching and gorgeous. Even Dior has said it has been elevated to the rank of a work of art. A creation of absolute timeless elegance. Just look at this freaking chair!
The Matilde Slides
M. Gemi, $228
Summer might end, but these Gigi Hadid-approved slides have been on my radar lately. It doesn’t seem like I’m the only one either. They are nearly impossible to get and are always sold out. But there is a good reason for that: they are chic and stylish and handcrafted in small batches. I love the buckles on these slides. They are so different than most other sandals. I also love they are handcrafted in Italy with quality materials and attention to detail on each pair. Definitely worth the investment - summer or not.
Interior Envy: Rombo IV by Taller Aragones
While looking at interiors with doses of neon for this post, I stumbled upon this incredible Mexico City abode. During the day it is a sleek, white modern home, but by night it turns into a colorful art installation. The LED lights just make the space come alive. The white surfaces play up the lightness and shadows. I just love the juxtaposition and design. According to Dwell, the home is named Rombo after its shape, a rhombus, and the LED lights at night evoke the colors of a Mexican sunset.
SUNGLASSES
Bottega Veneta, $277
These stylish babies crossed my path the other day and I am obsessed. I love their oval shape. They are big and pretty damn good for covering up a rough night and dark eye circles. Sign me up.
AN ICY, REFRESHING DIET COKE
It is very rare that I enjoy a soda, but when I do you know it’s an ice cold Diet Coke. While shopping at Target the other day I grabbed a 10-pack of mini cans and I have no regrets. Perfect summer afternoon break. No notes.
