I'm Kinda Obsessed with Bookshelves
I know it’s kinda odd to say I’m “obsessed” with bookshelves, but I just can’t think of a better way to put it. There is just something I love about how they look when stacked from top to bottom with books or aesthetically dressed with decor and books. Growing up my grandpa had a massive set of built-ins in his home office. There were shelves and shelves of old books with yellowing pages and incredible dust jackets. Many of the shelves had little trinkets and photo frames. We used to sit for hours and hours playing library or flipping through the pages of books and photo albums. Today, I have a pretty expansive collection of books, coffee table books, cookbooks..you name it, and they could honestly use a better home than the silly little closet shelves and boxes they currently live in. As someone who is constantly trying to update and redesign their space, it got me thinking about getting new hanging shelves or a chic and functional bookshelf.
Thus, this post was born. Whether you’re lucky enough to have built-ins or just utilize freestanding bookshelves, they make a great addition to any home. They can display just about anything, allowing for some creative decorating. If you don’t believe me just look at the tons of videos online of people decorating their shelves. There is a rhyme and reason to getting a perfectly aligned not at all cluttered bookshelf. My dream bookshelf is a combination of my favorite books to read and display, some candles, and maybe even my collection of records. While I haven’t taken the plunge to get a new unit (maybe soon!!) to display my growing collection of books, I did go find a whole bunch of incredible-looking bookshelves and decor.
