My Summer 2022 Bucket List
I know it’s July but there is still plenty of time left in summer for a good old bucket list. This idea was really important to me this summer because I need to get into the habit of doing more for myself. Not just doing more but more fun things to myself without having to explain it to anyone. It’s part of my setting boundaries and prioritizing self-care mental health programs. It really got me thinking about all of the things over the years I’ve either had straight FOMO about or managed to talk myself out of doing. All the things I would always find some reason not to do or something else I needed to do I considered more important or more productive. A summer bucket list honestly felt much easier as a child. Of course, the options were entirely limited as a child, but something as simple as doing the book reading challenge at the library for prizes was so much easier not to mention fun. It set out the entire summer with trips to the library for books and prizes while much of the other time was spent watching MTV Beach House programming or reading. Is there such thing as one of these library challenges for adults?
As an adult, the world is literally my oyster. There is just so much more to do but why is it I just don’t know what I want to do? Summer bucket lists can be as grand or simple as one wants, and this year I kinda decided I wanted it to be pretty simple. Things that are manageable but fun and that I will look back on as pretty darn enjoyable or at the very least productive.
