6 of My Closet's Most Worn Pieces

Hello my friends! Today we are gonna be talking about my closet’s most worn items. A truly hard assignment given what feels like a massive amount of clothes currently in there. Honestly, I’m not even sure how I was able to narrow it down to 6 and I’m sure my Instagram can call me out for even more things I repeat constantly. This isn’t new to me. As a kid there was rarely any time I wasn’t dressed to the 9s and somehow they are surprised by my obsession as an adult? Regardless, I love clothes and I love getting to put together outfits (and of course make content) which is something I never would have done years ago. It’s honestly helped me with my confidence and many other things. “Most worn” items aren’t new. In fact, I could probably do this exact same post by the season.

My most worn are mostly basics, which, if you have read this blog for a while, I consider the Holy Grail of wardrobe items. They are my no-fail pieces that can look effortlessly cool but still put together. They stand the test of time and last no matter how much they are worn.

Take a look at my closet’s most worn items and don’t forget you can always follow me on Instagram to see what I’m wearing & creating.

HIGH-WAISTED DENIM SHORTS

I love a good high-waisted short, especially denim shorts. For whatever reason on the bigger size with hips, they just seem to look and feel better than other types of shorts. Enter my new favorites: Good American. I didn’t believe the hype with the whole fits everybody looks good bit, but I can honestly say I was wrong. Boy was I wrong. As a girl with curves and hips, these shorts are truly a godsend. They aren’t too short, they fit right, and most importantly, they are comfortable.

SHOULDER PAD TANK

The 80’s called, they want their shoulder pads back. Not so fast, I’m not giving them up! I saw someone in my Instagram feed wearing a shoulder pad tank years ago and I was so jealous thinking there is no way I could ever pull that off. One day I just took the leap and didn’t look back. I honestly love the silhouette of it, especially with skirts and shorts. I even got the tank in multiple colors that’s how much I love it.

BLACK MIDI DRESS

I honestly have two versions of this exact same dress that’s how much I love it. I constantly wear this dress to brunch, on. vacation, and just whenever the heck I feel like it. I never thought I would like a more form-fitting, body hugging dress but this changed my mind. I love how it can be dressed up or down pretty easily depending on the situation. I might even go as far as to say it’s my favorite dress in my closet. At least right now…

SLIDE SANDALS

These are my favorite slide sandals. I would have them in every dang color if I could - what sense does that make though? I chose this rose gold type pink just to brighten up my normally monotone style, but they truly have so many colors and patterns it’s hard to choose just one - or a favorite for that matter. They are supportive and have a good grip to them. Another plus is they are eco-friendly and waterproof which means they won’t be damaged by sweat or summer fun.

LONG CARDIGAN

I’ve always been a fan of the long cardigan. I think I pretty much lived in one after a bad breakup a few years back. I picked this one up during the pandemic and it’s been in heavy rotation ever since. I think I have pretty much worn it while working and even getting a manicure. I personally love them because I can just toss them on when I’m feeling a bit chilly and it’s not too heavy or bothersome.

BASIC TANK TOP

I swear by a basic tank top for a few reasons. First, when I have to run to a doctor’s appointment or run another quick errand, why bother putting together a whole outfit? When I’m working, sometimes I just want to be laid back and relaxed. Second, they dress up pretty darn well too as you can see in the photo above. It’s probably one of my favorite closet basics. Really good ones last a long time even when they get a lot of wear and you can just never have too many as far as I’m concerned.
