6 Things I Tried and Loved In October

October seems like it flew by. I held my annual Horror-Thon and even traveled to New Orleans to celebrate my friends getting married (and spooky season of course!). Now it’s Christmas…basically. I don’t even want to think about the year being almost over. I am a bit excited and optimistic about planning for next year, but still seems a little too early to be doing that. This edition of Things I Tried and Loved has style, a delicious French restaurant, and some other fun stuff that has made my life much better over the last month.

JUSTINE

I went to Justine while in New Orleans and it’s fair to say it was my favorite meal of the entire trip. I loved the ambiance and the whole vibe of this restaurant from the neon Justine sign right down to all of the French accents. The Steak Frites are incredible as is the bread cheese, which I enjoyed with a lovely rosé. The location is excellent and during our time dining, there was a Second Line parade that took to the streets. I absolutely loved this place and would go back in a heartbeat!

SUMMER FRIDAYS SKIN TINT

Skin tints are all the rage lately, and I was excited to try this one from Summer Fridays. The other one I had been using left my face looking dewy which sometimes I didn’t love. This one felt so nice, thin, and light. It’s clean and has a really nice natural-looking finish. I wore this one while traveling and it was perfect - even with the humidity.

MANGO JOGGERS SET

I promised myself I wouldn’t buy anything for my trip, but I was influenced by Stassi Schroder to get this matching set for my plane ride. I was so bummed it didn’t show up on time, but I am happy to say it will be a staple of my cold-weather wardrobe for a while. I love that the joggers themselves are less like sweatpants and more like regular pants so they can be worn other places than the couch.

ARRAE CALM CAPSULES

These capsules were another travel recommendation I got for helping me sleep. Sometimes sleep can be hard in unfamiliar places especially when there is a time difference, so I ordered these on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised and I can see why they were sold out. They were helpful in getting me calm enough to sleep naturally without the zombie like feeling the next day.

Drinking Glasses with Bamboo Lids

I’m almost positive everyone has seen these glasses everywhere lately, and I hate to admit I joined the club. I just love how they look and when I drink out of a straw I consume much more water than I do without it. Plus they are good for using less plastic, store easily, and can be used for both hot and cold drinks.

SHEARLING BOOTS

I’ve never been one to wear Uggs, not even at their original height of popularity when I was in high school. However, when I saw these at Target and had an extra deal on shoes, I just thought “why not?” They are good for keeping my feet warm on chilly dog walks, and kinda of on trend so it’s a win-win for me!
