Fall Staples I Wear On Repeat

As someone with a fairly minimal style, I rely on basics a lot. Basics are awesome because they don’t take much thought. When I don’t feel like putting together an outfit, basics are the way to go. Need a chic outfit for a meeting or a dinner? Basics. Basics are not only versatile but they are essentials for just that same reason. They are easy to style, timeless, and can be mixed and matched with trendier pieces or just worn with each other. Like seasons change, so do the basics although many can be used from one season to another as a foundation for an outfit.

These are the fall basics I return to time and time again. Aka the basics I’ve been reaching for a lot lately.

WHITE TEE

A white tee is a great layering piece in fall. It can be worn with jeans, leggings, and skirts. It can be worn with a blazer, cardigan, or jacket. There is just so much you can do with a white tee and when done right, it’s anything but simple and frumpy.

BLAZER

Dressing in the fall can be kind of annoying. Usually, you’re layering for the morning and warm in the afternoon. This is why I constantly reach for a blazer. It makes a really nice not too warm jacket that can last all day. It helps outfits look more put together whether it’s for a meeting or a nice dinner out.

JEANS

Who doesn’t love a good pair of jeans? I’m not a big fan of relaxed-fit jeans mainly because my body type doesn’t really lend itself to making them work that nicely. I truly admire anyone who can wear them and pull them off just perfectly. Call me geriatric, but I love my skinny jeans and my straight-leg jeans. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

CARDIGANS

Cardigans are another great layering piece. They can be worn on their own or over tank tops and tees. I always have one laying around whether long, regular, or cropped ready to go for warmth around my house or just a quick outfit for when I need one.

LEATHER JACKETS

A leather jacket just makes any outfit that much cooler. I wear mine pretty much everywhere from errands to nights out.

CHELSEA BOOTS

A classic boot for a reason. They just work with so many different types of outfits and just look cool on top of that. They can be worn year after year which is one of the reasons I love them so much.

BUTTON DOWNS

Oversized button-downs are on-trend for fall, but when it comes to basics and essentials, a crisp button-down can stand the test of time. There are tons of different fits and styles. I love they look chic and can be dressed up or worn in a more relaxed fashion.
