Q&A: What Are Your Fall Style Essentials?
I feel like I say the same thing all the time about it being too hot, but how much I love fall clothes. Everything fall for that matter. But what’s not to love about fall? Cozy sweaters, boots, jackets…
I have a pretty simple but classic style for the most part. I like buying clothes I can get a lot of miles out of whether it means over time or through outfit combinations. This is why a majority of my closet are basics that can be worn any season really. Well, that is if you have true seasons (in which case…good for you. Are you big timing me?)
These are a few of my fall style essentials that also transition pretty well into winter. If you don’t have them in your closet then you really should. On the other hand, if you do have them, there is no harm in upgrading your essentials to a better more quality version. You could even embrace a trendier type if that tickles your fancy.
Denim Jacket
I love a good denim jacket. I wear mine to the gym on a chilly morning, to grab a drink at night, and even to work. I always choose a distressed one in a lighter wash, but if you’re looking for a more trendy style look for a Sherpa collar and lining.
Brown Boots
I know, this one might be a bit of a surprise because who doesn’t love a pair of black boots? This fall, while shopping, I got a brown pair! I like how they look mixed with jeans. I also really like how the knee-high brown boots look. They are just a subtle standout choice when it comes to boots.
Crewneck Sweaters
Confession: I just bought a few new crewneck sweaters. I might have done a closet clean out and then just went a bit nuts. But it’s also because crewneck sweaters are a classic. They are chic and comfortable. You can get them in many colors, prints, and types. You can wear them with jeans or skirts. The possibilities are endless.
Dark Wash Denim
Dark wash denim is my jam, especially in fall. It’s simple and classic. No trends to mess with. It just looks chic and put together.
Plaid + Flannel
It may be a cliche but plaid is a fall must-have. There are many different styles and colors. They can be worn many ways and it helps with the whole pesky layering thing.
Stripes, Stripes, and More Stripes
I love a good stripe button up top. I wear them to work or to get drinks. They can be dressed up or down. Striped sweaters are also pretty cool.
