Mix No. 20 // In the Kitchen Thanksgiving 3
This year I'm having a love/hate relationship with Thanksgiving. I typically love Thanksgiving although it's a holiday everyone else would rather skip over in order to get right to Christmas. I think my love of Thanksgiving stems from when I was a kid because when Thanksgiving was finally here so was Christmas. But now Christmas pretty much starts in July essentially ruining the season by the time Christmas actually comes around. But I digress. I think this year's Thanksgiving is upsetting to me because the year is almost over, and I just don't feel like I've accomplished anything I truly wanted to do. It's just this gnawing reminder that pretty soon it will be Christmas and then New Years and there are just all these things I never got to. Despite this, I am still trying to keep my head up. I jumped right in and ordered a brand new pie dish thinking that might help lift my spirits. That is until it was pretty much held hostage in a shipping storage facility until yesterday rendering it useless for the Friendsgiving party I intended it for. At least it finally made it here for Thanksgiving Day. But one thing remains consistent, I still have a playlist. It's a cooking tradition I implemented in order to focus and drown out the family noise. So with that in mind, here is my playlist for this year. All the jazz one kitchen can handle and some other tunes. Why jazz? Because it's soothing and just fits cooking better than other types of music. It makes any meal just a little bit classier.
