What I'm Listening To, Volume 9
As I sit here writing this I can't help but wonder where half of the year went. It seems like just 5 minutes ago I was really hopeful about the year ahead, and now that's half over I feel pretty bummed out. I'm definitely not anywhere close to where I thought I would be 6 months ago, but I guess that's how life works. Posting another What I'm Listening To after just posting one last month seems like a bit of a cop-out, but I have a good reason. There have been so many good new releases this past month and just some songs I've had on heavy rotation lately. I couldn't help myself. Sorry, it feels like a downer at points. Sometimes a #mood happens. But a lot of these are brand new releases from June. I've really been loving the Father John Misty album, God's Favorite Customer. I can definitely see it being on my favorite albums of the year list. Of course, Chromatic's Blue Girl is present. I can't resist a Chromatics tune. Letting Go by Wild Nothing has me excited to hear the album later this summer. I couldn't resist adding Dreams Tonite by Alvvays and the Tame Impala track because I just have strong feelings about them right now. Oh, and I can't forget Hana Vu's Shallow. Hana Vu is a name you're going to want to know. Be better than your mediocre friends.
