A Big 'Ol Bunch of (Street) Style Inspiration
Runways tell us what to wear, but can mostly feel like incredibly artistic statements no could ever pull off in real life. Street Style on the other hand really shows us how to bring these trends into real life. Okay, maybe not entirely into real life. I'm almost positive it takes a lot of planning to make a good outfit that gets noticed for the right reasons. Both ways we look to style inspiration have their pros and cons. One thing is absolutely true: I love looking at street style. Maybe too much.
I love looking at street style for a few reasons. First, I try to imagine where the heck I could ever pull any of this off without everyone looking at me like I'm some sort of strange alien. That's not to say the outfits are strange or out there, but more like far from the norm in the area I live in. Second, I like trying to envision my own take on the look. Like I said, being at Fashion Week lends people a chance to be noticed and spotted so they go all out. But what do I do with a clothing budget and places like an office? This might be the biggest reason I like looking at street style. It gives me plenty of inspiration for my own daily outfits. I have a fairly classic and simple style but I'm always wanting to look outside the box. After all, I know my environment, my style, and my closet best. But that doesn't mean I don't need some new ways to utilize what I have and embrace new seasonal trends.
My closet has been severely lacking lately, and due to a funk I've been in I've literally returned almost everything I've purchased in the last month (without ever even wearing it). So I went looking for some key style inspiration to reinvigorate my outlook every day when I get dressed. It's become way too easy to toss on a light sweater and jeans then call it a day.
