Mix No. 15 || Spring Break
This is my very first blog post on my new domain name. Although I fear I may end up changing it once more before anyone even reads this. Choosing a domain name is hard. Mostly because I have to define what this blog is about while making people interested. Some people are really good at nailing this, and I'm just not. But Nicole, you are a marketer. You should be able to sell your personal brand better than anyone! Yeah, I wish that was true. I might be able to sell others, but selling myself is a little different. How do you define yourself in a short, catchy name?
That said, welcome new and old readers to my little corner of the internet. I'm sure if you have read this long you're saying to yourself "oh my god just get to the music." So I'll jump straight ahead to that. As you may or may not know, I love making mixtapes (or playlists in the 21st century). I even belong to and run a Mixtape Club on Tumblr. I sometimes feel like each year I try to reinvent the wheel with the same playlists over and over, but here we are.
Welcome to Mixtape No. 14: Spring Break. Spring Break might be over in your neck of the woods. It certainly is here, but I'm leaving the title because it's still spring so everyone wins. I started out creating this mix with sunshine, windows down moments in mind. I think the combination of modern pop and some lesser known indie fare worked out really well. Especially because I don't define myself as just one thing. I definitely feared too much modern pop, but I think some of these worked really well. Plus they aren't exactly hits you hear constantly (yet) so you're not bored of them yet.
