Best Songs of 2017...So Far
More than half the year is over which has completely taken me by surprise. I can't think of where the time has gone. It seems like just last week I was starting a new semester and contemplating having my wisdom teeth removed. Now its July. My semester went amazing, the wisdom teeth are freshly removed (yikes), and now we've reached the point of the year where everything begins to move faster than a snowball rolling down a mountainside. I must admit I'm hopeful for the rest of the year and I hope things begin to go a bit more my way, but I must remain cautiously optimistic about the whole thing.
At the end of every year I try to pick my favorite songs from the last 365 days. It's always a challenge because it's nearly impossible to recall all of the songs released towards the beginning of the year. So borrowing an idea from one of my favorite music bloggers and one of the mixtapes posted to the mixtape club I belong to, I decided to try something new: a playlist. The idea is simple: a running playlist updated occasionally with music I'm really into. The hope is that at the end of the year I have a pretty sweet collection of tunes that hold memories for myself of the year gone by, the songs that I will remember forever, and some new all time favorite songs.
