The Only Wrapping Paper You Need This Year
As I sit here writing this, I’m feeling a bit anxious. Not simply because shopping for gifts and many of the other holiday season task are stressful but because I take wrapping very seriously. Is that my own fault? Probably. Being a type-A perfectionist is what it is. Truthfully, I got it from my momma. My mom always made gift wrapping a serious event even if it usually ended up taking place after dinner on Christmas Eve. Everything from the wrapping to the bows and tags was perfectly put together. The system with which the paper was folded and taped was precise. As an adult, this is just something that has stuck with me. Maybe because it preys on my need for order and structure? Who knows.
Every year I spend so much time in the wrapping aisle of Target trying to find the perfect wrapping/bow/tag combination. Arguably too much time but I love it. My favorite combination thus far was a white paper with silver “Merry Christmas” on it from sugar paper and a red glitter paper from Wondershop. There was silver ribbon that attached packages together and large square gift tags that were tied on. I have no clue what my combination for this year is going to be and I have been trying to avoid that aisle at Target on purpose.
Here are a few of my favorite papers, bows, and tags for this year. But what will my wrapping actually be? Only time will tell.
