6 Winter Trends I'm Digging Right Now

Winter kind of sucks. I’m always cold and getting dressed is a stressful experience. More often than not it’s about staying warm over taking the time to craft a look. I am lucky enough, if you can consider it lucky, to live in a state that still has relatively nice days - even when it’s chilly and makes getting out of bed difficult. A lot of the time just that one simple thing makes getting dressed a bit easier. With Instagram and the like, it’s exciting to get to see how winter is for everyone else.

That got me thinking about what trends I’ve seen that I’m just kind of into. There are a few I just can’t be bothered to wear but still love to see - and wish I could wear. And others I just can’t get enough of. It may be chilly out there, but it's time to elevate our style game and stay cozy yet chic. This season, I'm diving headfirst into some fabulous winter trends that are not only fashion-forward but also practical for the chilly weather.

Red Sweaters

The color red has been having its moment. A color synonymous with warmth and vibrancy, it’s the perfect choice for winter sweaters. Whether it's a bold crimson or a deep burgundy, red sweaters add a pop of color to the winter landscape. Lately burgundy and oxblood have stepped into the spotlight, but truly one can’t go wrong with even the most classic shade of bright red.

Stiletto Boots

I know I have a love of kitten heels lately and they really are the trend to hone in on this winter, but the second I pulled out the stiletto boots, my mood leveled up. Nothing says winter glam like a pair of stiletto boots. These boots are sleek, and sophisticated and elevate your style. Whether you opt for knee-high or ankle-length, stiletto boots add a touch of allure to any outfit. Pair them with skinny jeans, a knit dress, or even a maxi coat for a fashion-forward ensemble that effortlessly transitions from day to night.

Maxi Coats

Honestly, if there is one trend I’m obsessed with this winter, it’s maxi coats. Maxi coats are a winter essential, offering both style and practicality. The longer length provides extra warmth and a touch of drama to your winter look. Choose a classic neutral tone like camel or black for a timeless feel, or make a statement with bold patterns or textures. They really create an elegant silhouette that will have heads turning no matter what you pair it with.

Oval Sunglasses

Oval sunglasses are the perfect accessory to complete your winter look because the winter sun is harsh to say the least. Not only do they protect your eyes from the aforementioned winter sun, but they also add a touch of vintage glamour to your outfit. Choose a pair with colored lenses to complement your winter wardrobe or stick to classic black for a timeless appeal. Oval sunglasses are a versatile accessory that effortlessly combines fashion and function and just looks cool.

Knit Dresses

Winter is synonymous with cozy knitwear, and during the season knit dresses really steal the show. Whether it's a classic knit or a form-fitting silhouette, knit dresses are perfect for bundling up against the cold while looking stylish. Play with textures and colors to add depth to your outfit. Knit dresses are chic, timeless, and a central part of the winter wardrobe.

Barrel Leg Jeans

I know for years there has been discourse about saying goodbye to skinny jeans and welcoming all other kinds. This is likely why the barrel leg trend has been embraced with open arms, even if it still feels polarizing. These relaxed-fit jeans are not only comfortable but also incredibly stylish. The wider leg adds a vintage touch to your winter wardrobe, creating a laid-back yet fashionable vibe. Pair them with ankle boots or stiletto heels to elongate your legs, and top it off with a tucked-in knit sweater for an effortlessly cool look that screams winter chic.
