Halter tops are a vibe. I remember being younger and wearing them constantly. I mean, who didn’t roam the pages of teen magazines or the dELiA*s catalog on the regular looking for the best of the best? They seemed to have fallen off there for a while or maybe just for me, but they are back and in a big way. Pretty much an essential part of any Hot Girl Summer Closet.

Halter tops have been a regular for the street style set for a couple of years now. They were huge in many of the runway resort collections. Halter tops are cool because they are a little sexy but still elegant looking. They show off shoulders, collarbones, and backs - all parts of skin that don’t always get their due. The silhouette is chic, a tad sensual, and playful. Halter tops just feel very 90s and early 2000s and you can even get some 70s vibes in there too. I can’t even begin to lie when I say I’ve added a couple of cute ones to my closet in the last couple of months. I think, personally, one of the reasons I love halter tops is they can be casual or more dressed up. Plus they make good transition pieces for going into fall because they can be worn with a blazer or light jacket.
