8 Gorgeous Hotels I Want to Visit
I know I’m not a travel blogger or a travel influencer, but if there is one thing I love it’s reading magazines, blogs, and articles about design (and travel). After weeks of seeing all these incredibile posts about hotels, especially new hotels, I just really couldn’t get my mind off them which leads me to this post. Obviously I want to visit all of them so I’m considering it a mini checklist. So join me on a little exploration of all the gorgeous hotels that have just not left my mind since summer began.
Vermelho Melides, Portugal
The Vermelho Melides is designed and owned by Louboutin and is located an hour and a half outside Lisbon. This new hotel is eclectic and only has 13 rooms. Each room is decked out with tiles and personal touches like antiques from Louboutin’s personal collection. Even the sheets and slippers are embroidered with that signature Louboutin scarlet. The property feels private and it’s considered the most stylish new place in the country.
Drift Palm Springs
Palm Springs has always been a weekend getaway hotspot, but the Drift Palm Springs is the new IT place to stay. The interior combines steel, wood, and brick to create an organic vibe that is serene and welcoming. The hotel boasts two to four-bedroom suites with kitchens for the ultimate stay. There is a Baja-inspired restaurant, yoga studio, poolside cabanas, and more.
Il Capri Hotel, Naples
The Il Capri is a Venetian-style palazzo that is an incredible collaboration between Graziella Buontempo and Arnaud Lacombe. They play a modern aesthetic of midcentury Capri nostalgia to create a beautiful and cool piece of Italian luxury. The hotel boasts alfresco spaces, terracotta hues, and a shimmering pool surrounded by loungers. The original pink and white facade welcomes guests to new chic amenities and incredible views of the island’s landscape.
Yi Hotel, Greece
Everyone and their mother goes to Mykonos. It’s one of the most fashionable places to travel. The Yi Hotel is a brand-new place and is bound to be a hotspot. Yi Hotel is a detox-oriented escape from the outside world, and one of its founding principles is sustainability. The Yi has been hailed as a place for food lovers. It boasts 41 guest rooms and suites, sea views, and an upscale concierge service. With such a beautiful setting there really is no surprise there are activities from boat trips, olive-oil tastings, in-room spa treatments, live music, and more.
Como Le Montrachet, France
The COMO Le Montrachet is a freshly renovated 19th century inn located in the Burgundy wine region of France. It is housed alongside heritage buildings in the village square and is just mere steps away from the Le Montrachet vineyard, a legend in itself. The Como Le Montrachet was designed by Paola Navone, and features it’s own sommelier who will accompany guests on private wine tastings. There are wine-tasting workshops and the executive chef changes their menus with the seasons to best showcase produce from local suppliers and farmers.
Montevalle Health & Wellness Resort, Mexico
The Montevalle Health & Wellness Resort is located in Baja, California and the heart of Valle de Guadalupe’s wine region. There are endless desert landscapes and vineyards and a new adults-only destination focused on wellness. The resort sits on acres of seemingly Mediterranean landscapes with olive trees and vineyards. There are 14 one bedroom villas, a headed pool, and a ton of wellness facilities for reflexology, meditation, a spa, and a tennis court. The vibe is tranquil and timeless through the mixture of contemporary and rustic elements. There are grounding earthy colors, indigenous plants, bringing an extra centering element. The resort offers all-inclusive stays with health consults, laser therapy, IV drips, and wine therapy to boost the immune system.
Six Senses, Rome
The Six Senses may be located in the heart of heritage sites like the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, but the second you step inside you are transported to a contemporary and serene space. The marble, stone, and travertine are nods to the past but feel very modern. Much of the design uses local sources and traditional materials found Ancient Roman times. The neutral color palette is broken up by dashes of color and geometric rugs. There are two restaurants and a trio of pools that are inspired by Roman bathhouses. The piazza style restaurant has a focus on plant based ingredients and organic local meat to bring a farm to table approach to dining. There is sustainable, seasonal fruit and vegetables, a wine dispenser, and wood oven pizza. The spa has honed in it’s Italian-focused treatments and they even offer sound therapy.
The Georgian Hotel, Santa Monica
The Georgian Hotel is an art Deco gem just blocks from the Santa Monica Pier. It is one of those eye-catching sights you just have to sit and admire. For many years the hotel has had a varied series of owners and was even a retirement home for a while which means there has been little left of its original glory days. The Georgian first opened in 1933 and was known for its elegance and its hosting of notorious guests like Clark Gable and Al Capone. It was the place to be seen. Now the Georgian is back to its old glory with a few modern twists. The jeweled touches have returned along with custom velvet furniture, crown moldings, and ocean-facing terraces. A brass button marked champagne will summon a bellhop with a bar cart and a rotary phone plays vintage audio messages about the hotel’s history.
