Home Essentials: Coffee Tables
I think coffee tables are underappreciated. The unsung heroes of the living room, if you will. They aren’t just that thing that collects spills or that you bang your legs into as you walk by. Coffee tables are stylish and cool - especially now. It seems like when I was growing up there were very few choices as far as coffee tables went. They were all wood with little squares of glass. They mainly existed to collect coasters, magazines, and television remotes. These days there are so many freaking cool coffee tables that you can make an amazing design statement just by choosing one.
Sure, they still collect television remotes, coffee table books, and maybe even magazines, but the options out there are all so incredibly looking. I know I sound like a total nerd, but trust me on this one. You can still put your Trader Joe’s mac and cheese on a chic, exciting table just the same. I love that coffee tables are now being created from wood, concrete, and metal. These textures take things up a notch and add something extra to a room many of us spend a lot of time in. The shape is another excellent element. No longer are coffee tables simply long and thin or just round or square. There are many different shapes that really allow us to embrace the different angles, space restrictions, and personal styles of our homes. For as much as I utterly hated cleaning the glass on my parent’s coffee table every weekend, I truly love a good coffee table these days. I can’t imagine a living room without one. Not as excited about coffee tables as I am? Just keep scrolling to see tons of cool coffee tables including some of my favorite ones out there right now. Pricey…but so, so, so worth it. An investment piece that also is a gorgeous work of art.
