Styling: Tailored Vests
I am pretty obsessed with tailored, menswear-inspired vests. Of course, they have been a street style staple for a couple of seasons now and once I saw them styled every which way, I just couldn’t get enough of them. Even Vogue named them a must-have for fall. They can be worn with everything from mini skirts to trousers for modern suiting. There really is no right or wrong way to wear them. They are a wardrobe piece that makes it easy to pull off an incredible outfit without much effort. There is a gender-neutral approach to these vests; they aren’t exactly new. There have been many women who made menswear-inspired clothing a big hit in the 1980s and 1990s. It’s not even just a trend. A well-tailored vest is a classic that is forever stylish.
Whether you call it a waistcoat, vest or whatever, it’s something you must have in your fall wardrobe. If I can’t convince you, let these inspiration photos lead the way. Then check out a few of my favorite ways to style a tailored vest and a few of my favorite styles.
