Hello my friends and happy unofficial first day of summer! I got quite a few requests for a summer mix so far this month so I finally sat down and got to work on it. The summer mixes are always some of the most fun to share and create. Mostly because they can be so many different things like chilled out and relaxed, dance remixes and house tunes, or just upbeat beachy tunes. I think by now it’s pretty clear I’m the type of person who always has to have the right soundtrack for whatever is happening. To me it’s a sensory experience and songs can trigger feelings, memories, and the like. Especially with summer and there are so many songs, playlists, and memories that always come flooding back. I know I’m not the only one who gets the summer daze even if some of those memories just aren’t the greatest. It’s why we, no matter what, always remember the “song of the summer” for years to come.

This year’s first summer mix is a mixture of genres and vibes which I think kinda fit together (and create their own vibe). I didn’t put much thought into the placement in the tracklist because playlists are sometimes best played on shuffle so by all means listen however you enjoy playlists. No rules around here.
