6 Fall Trends to Know Right Now

It may be mid-September, but I truly can’t even believe I’m looking at fall fashion let alone filling my cart with new finds. It still is in the triple digits around here. It’s honestly never too early to start making a shopping list and grabbing things while they are still in stock. Have you TRIED to find a pair of western/cowboy boots lately? It’s nearly impossible. Thanks, TikTok. I won’t lie, I’ve already ordered (and returned) wide-leg jeans (I guess they just aren’t for me) and stocked my bookmarks full of sweaters, coats, and boots for whenever I get the itching to shop. Okay, or my bank account says I can. I WILL get my hands on some western boots!!!!

Every season there are tons of trends that rise and fall. Of course, not all of them are worth your time. Look, I’m sorry I just don’t think clogs are ever going to be in rotation on my shoe rack. You can’t go wrong when it comes to the seasonal staples, but if you’re looking around here are 6 trends to know about right now.

KNIT DRESSES

Knits are essential in the winter and fall, but a knit dress is a must-have this season. They are cozy, stylish, and versatile. Wear them with sneakers, boots, or even heels. An obvious choice to dress up or down.

VESTS

There are two different types of vests on the fall trend radar: tailored, menswear-inspired vests and preppy sweater vests. There are so many different sweater vests out there you’re sure to find one that fits your personal style. I love a good sweater vest and jeans, but also love how they look with an oversized button-down and boots. Tailored vests are on my radar this season and the more I see them the more I want them. They look chic with full-tailored suiting and can even be a tad bit sexy.

COWBOY BOOTS

Being from Arizona I swore I’d probably never wear cowboy boots, but alas I’ve been solidly looking for a great pair for weeks. TikTok has been steadily making sure every pair anywhere is sold out almost instantly so the task has been quite difficult. Luckily, boots of any kind are never out of style. Western and cowboy silhouettes just add something extra to any look. I especially love how they look with dresses.

RELAXED TROUSERS

Relaxed fit trousers are a simple way to change up your pants game. They are loose, comfortable, and chic. They complement everything from crop tops to tank tops and sweaters. They look cool with blazers for a suited look and minimal and cool tons of other ways. Loose pants I can get behind, sorry wide-leg jeans.

SATURATED COLORS

When it comes to transitioning from summer to fall, it usually means getting rid of the bright pastels and colors. But this fall, the brighter and more vibrant the better. This fall grab the jewel tones, magentas, and rich colors. With a monochrome closet, adding tons of colors can be scary, but the best way to wear them is by mixing and matching colors. Think orange and blue or purple and red.

PUFFY AND TEXTURED HANDBAGS

Puffer coats were trendy last year and still everywhere this year too, but if you’re not prepared for a full coat - try a puffy/quilted bag. The best thing about this trend is you can find a bag in just about any style you like. Need a large tote for work? Maybe a crossbody or mini bag for errands? Even if you’re not willing to grab a quilted or puffy bag, there are other cool textures to choose from.
