My Summer Survival Essentials

I am always fascinated by what others consider “essential” to their lives. I’m a sucker for an article about a model, influencer, or celebrity talking about what they are obsessed with right now/this season/whatever. Kind of in the way that we all were super interested in the morning routines of successful people a few years back. There was even a whole website dedicated to it. I find people’s essentials particularly interesting because you get a slight glimpse into what makes them tick. What helps them be or become this incredible being that they are. What they consider so important to their style/health/well-being/life.

It might come from all the psychology and sociology I took in school, but seeing how each person is drawn and driven by different things is so intriguing. Why is this bikini a favorite of this person versus the millions of other brands out there? It’s also interesting to have ideas sparked in my own head. Do I need a pair of rectangle sunglasses instead of my go-to round ones? Will my life be forever changed by this revolutionary highlighter or will it just sit in the very bottom of my makeup bag never seeing the light of day?

In the spirit of sharing, I thought I would share the 8 things that are getting me through this summer, because what else is a blog really? And, of course, I did something similar last year. Enjoy and let me know your favorites or if there is anything I should try!

A lifesaver for my lips during the summer whether they get a little dry and cracked or just irritated from the sun.

Hair Perfume

The best way to keep smelling great without the overbearing fragrance. Plus it lasts longer than a typical fragrance but won’t damage the hair.

Byredo, $78

Slides

Forget Birkenstocks, Freedom Moses slides are my favorites. They come in so many different colors and designs that spice up your summer outfit. Slide them on and go.

Freedom Moses, $45

Tinted Moisturizer

This has been my go-to tinted moisturizer for years. There is no way to comfortably wear foundation in the AZ heat so this is the next best thing.

NARS, $45

Ice Roller

The ice roller has many uses including de-puffing my face, getting rid of heat/allergy headaches, and is just good for cooling down after a hot day or an intense workout.

ESARORA, $14

Midi Dress

I love a good midi dress whether it’s to look nice at work, dinner, or drinks, and especially after a day at the pool.

Zara, $70

Hair Milk

Think about the toll pool water, styling tools, and the sun have on hair? This hair milk spray softens, detangles, and controls frizz.
