MIX NO. 50 // IN THE KITCHEN: THANKSGIVING VOLUME 4
Another month I wasn’t sure about even making a Monthly Mix, but that is just when inspiration loves to strike. Granted, my In the Kitchen mix isn’t a revolutionary idea. I’ve made plenty of them and this is the 4th volume of the Thanksgiving series. Cooking Thanksgiving is both stressful and exciting. Next to Christmas, it’s the biggest meal I will make all year. It’s a marathon of cooking going for hours and hours between yummy snacks and the big event itself. Like so many other things, music is essential to cooking. It keeps me focused, calms me down when I’m feeling stressed, and just sets an overall mood for both the meal and the day.
The goal of the In the Kitchen playlists is to do just that, set the mood whether it’s while cooking or welcoming guests. The music that makes up these playlists is a mixture of jazz, ambient songs, or chill indie songs (for the most part). Enjoyed best with a glass of wine, some cheese, and, of course, a recipe that is sure to please - even if, unlike Thanksgiving, it’s just a meal for yourself. My playlists surely won’t last the entire cooking time of a turkey, but there are many different volumes to buy you some time and, at the very least, enjoyment. Check below and you’ll even find Christmas versions if you’re already getting into the holiday spirit!
I’ll be starting with this one come Thursday, and I hope you will too.
