Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Ah, you couldn't possibly think I have forgotten to overload my blog with all things fall, could you? Well never fear, fall is in full swing around here. Did that rhyme? It's the perfect day for me to be sharing this style post because I actually got to wear both plaid AND boots today without overheating and looking like a tomato Snapchat lens! Hooray!!! Okay, it was only around 62 degrees this morning when I left the house, but that's chilly enough for me!

Building a capsule wardrobe for fall is simply because there's one rule: stick to the basics. If you simply stick to the basics you've always got something to wear. If the basics are neutrals even better. Once you build the wardrobe, it's easy to just upgrade pieces year after year depending on how your personal style or budget changes. Another great thing about a seasonal capsule wardrobe is how the pieces transition easily to winter. Jackets, coats, sweaters, and boots are staples for cold weather. Simply add more layering and you're good to go.

Narrowing down the pieces I find essential was difficult. I aim to add at least one, if not more, trendy piece into my wardrobe seasonly. But, I try not to go overboard because they are trendy for a reason and they will eventually fade away once again. It's important to me not to spend too much on those items either for that reason. I mention this because I included a bomber jacket here. Bomber jackets are huge right now and there are so many that are lightweight and can transition from season to season. That said, basic colored bomber jackets are the way to go to make them transition from trendy to true classic status.
